J-Valves Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve with Top Entry on Carbon Steel is a high-performance carbon steel trunnion ball valve. Featuring a top-entry structure and double piston effect seat technology, it is designed for reliable isolation in high-pressure, large-bore pipelines and severe service conditions. The valve body is forged or cast from high-quality carbon steel, with the ball supported and secured by upper and lower bearings. Since medium pressure is not exerted on the stem, the operating torque is low and stable. The top-entry design allows in-line maintenance of internal components without removing the valve, significantly reducing downtime. It is especially suitable for critical applications in oil and gas long-distance pipelines, petrochemical plants, urban gas systems, power generation industries and other scenarios that require frequent maintenance or uninterrupted fluid transmission.

Design Features

  • Top-Entry Structure:The valve body adopts a one-piece or two-piece design with a bonnet on top. By removing the bonnet, all trim parts including the ball and seats can be taken out without cutting the valve from the pipeline, enabling in-line maintenance.

  • Trunnion-Mounted Ball Support:The ball is fixed and supported by upper and lower bearings (trunnions). Loads generated by medium pressure on the ball are borne by the bearings instead of being transferred to the stem, resulting in constant and low operating torque for easy opening and closing under high pressure.

  • Double Piston Effect Seat (DPE):Both upstream and downstream seats achieve independent self-energized sealing. Reliable sealing is ensured regardless of flow direction, realizing true bi-directional sealing and supporting Double Block & Bleed (DBB) function.

    Carbon Steel Valve Body:The valve body is made of high-quality carbon steel such as A105, WCB, LCB, LF2, featuring high strength and low cost, suitable for non-corrosive or slightly corrosive media. Corrosionresistance is enhanced by surface coating or lining.

  • Flanged / Butt-Weld Connections:RF (Raised Face) and RTJ (Ring Type Joint) flanges conform to ASME B16.5; butt-weld (BW) ends are also available, with pressure ratings from Class 150LB to 2500LB.

  • Seat Sealing Technology:Soft seats (PTFE/RPTFE/Nylon) provide bubble-tight zero leakage. Metal seats (Stellite alloy / nickel-base alloy) resist high temperature and erosion, with service temperature up to +650℃.

  • Blowout-Proof Stem & Anti-Static:A shoulder at the stem bottom prevents blowout under internal pressure. Anti-static devices are installed between the body and ball, stem and body, with resistance <10Ω to avoid static accumulation.

  • Fire-Safe Design:Compliant with API 607/ISO 10496 standards. In case of fire, after the soft seal burns out, metal seats and the ball maintain sealing to prevent medium leakage.

  • Grease Injection Sealing System:Grease injection valves are provided at the seat and stem areas for emergency temporary sealing or regular lubrication to extend service life.

  • Flexible Operation Modes:Manual (handle / worm gear), pneumatic actuator, hydraulic actuator, electric actuator, supporting automatic control and remote operation.

  • DBB & DIB Functions Optional:Double Block & Bleed (DBB) or Double Isolation & Bleed (DIB-1/DIB-2) configurations to meet pipeline isolation, pressure relief and safety locking requirements.
