The Basic Structure And Working Principle Of The Globe Valve


I.Basic Structure

The basic structure of the globe valve includes valve body, valve cover, valve stem, valve disc, seat, packing box and handwheel and other main components. The valve body is the main frame of the globe valve, which is used to carry fluid pressure and hold other components. The bonnet is used to seal the top of the valve body to prevent fluid leakage. The valve stem is the key component connecting the handwheel and the valve disc. By rotating the handwheel, the valve stem drives the valve disc to move up and down to realize the opening and closing of the valve. The valve flap is the opening and closing part of the globe valve, usually in the shape of a plug, and its sealing surface is closely fitted with the sealing surface of the seat to form a sealing pair to prevent fluid from passing through. The packing box is located between the valve stem and the valve cover and is filled with packing to seal the gap between the valve stem and the valve cover and prevent fluid leakage. The handwheel is a part of the manual operation of the globe valve, and the lifting of the valve stem is controlled by rotating the handwheel, so as to realize the opening and closing operation of the valve.


II.Working Principle

The working principle of the globe valve is based on the linear motion of the disc. When the hand wheel is rotated clockwise, the stem drives the valve disc downward, the sealing surface of the valve disc is closely fitted to the sealing surface of the seat, the fluid channel is cut off, and the valve is closed. On the contrary, when the hand wheel is rotated counterclockwise, the stem drives the valve disc to move upward, the valve disc is separated from the seat, the fluid channel is opened, and the valve is opened. In addition, the globe valve can also adjust the flow of fluid by controlling the height of the lift of the valve disc, but its adjustment accuracy is relatively low, and it is more suitable for cutting off or simple flow control. The globe valve has the advantages of simple structure, good sealing performance, long service life, etc., but its fluid resistance is large, the opening and closing torque is high, and the medium can only flow one-way. The Process Structure of The Globe Valve
