J-Valves High Pressure Butt Weld Self-Sealing Gate Valve is a high-performance gate valve designed specifically for ultra-high pressure applications. It adopts a pressure self-sealing structure instead of the traditional bolted bonnet, achieving a dynamic sealing effect where higher medium pressure results in more reliable sealing performance. Featuring an integrally forged body and butt-weld (BW) connection, this valve eliminates potential leakage risks associated with flanged connections, making it particularly suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure piping systems such as supercritical and ultra-supercritical thermal power units, nuclear power plants, petrochemical hydrogenation units, and coal chemical plants. The resilient wedge or rigid solid wedge design, combined with a precision guiding structure, ensures reliable isolation and low pressure drop operation under extreme service conditions.

Design Features

  • Pressure-actuated Self-sealing Bonnet:Adopts metallic sealing elements such as lens gasket, delta gasket or Ω‑ring. Medium pressure forces the bonnet and body sealing faces into tight contact, achievingpressure‑activated self‑energized sealing. Seating contact pressure increases with rising medium pressure.

  • One‑piece Forged Body:Valve body is integrally forged from high‑temperature high‑pressure alloy steels including F11, F22, F91, F92, F316 and Inconel 718, featuring dense grain structure and free from casting defects. Pressure rating ranges from Class 900LB to 4500LB.

  • Butt‑Weld End Design:BW (Butt Weld) ends comply with ASME B16.25, eliminating leakage paths associated with flanged bolted connections, and accommodating thermal expansion and cyclic loading under high temperature and pressure.

  • Optional Solid / Resilient Wedge:Double solid wedge design automatically compensates for angular misalignment of sealing surfaces. Resilient wedge (NBR/EPDM‑clad) provides zero‑leakage soft sealing, adapting to temperature variations and minor deformations.

  • Seat Hardfacing Technology:Seat sealing faces are hardfaced with Stellite No.6, No.12 or nickel‑base alloy, with thickness ≥1.6mm and hardness ≥HRC 40, offering excellent erosion and cavitation resistance and allowing in‑line lapping and repair.

  • Pressure‑seal Bonnet Construction:Bonnet and body are connected by threaded joint or pressure‑seal ring, fitted with segmented gland bolts for convenient assembly and maintenance without special tools.

  • Blowout‑proof Stem Design:Stem is equipped with a bottom shoulder structure to prevent accidental blowout under internal pressure, complying with API 623 safety requirements.

  • Low‑friction Packing System:Multi‑layer flexible graphite packing with braided graphite rings provides good self‑lubrication and low operating torque, meeting API 622 low‑emission requirements.

  • Guiding & Anti‑vibration Design:Precise fit between body guides and wedge prevents vibration and noise under high differential pressure. Cage guiding is provided for large sizes to ensure stable operation.

  • Flexible Operation:Handwheel (standard), impact handwheel, gearbox, multi‑turn electric actuator, pneumatic/hydraulic actuator, supporting DCS remote control.
