J-VALVES
Design Features
Material of A105N Normalized Forged Steel:The valve body is integrally forged from high-quality ASTM A105N carbon steel and normalized, resulting in refined and uniform grain structure. It has a tensile strength of ≥485MPa and yield strength of ≥250MPa, with impact toughness significantly superior to ordinary A105. It meets the stringent pressure-bearing requirements of Class 1500 ultra-high pressure rating (approximately 260bar / 26.0MPa) and is suitable for non-corrosive ultra-high pressure media such as water, oil and gas.
Three-Piece Body Structure:Composed of a main body and two side bodies, connected by high-strength alloy steel bolts. The side bodies can be disassembled in-line for replacement of seats, ball, seals and trim, without removing the valve from 6-inch ultra-high pressure large-bore pipelines, greatly reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
High Pressure Stability with Trunnion Mounted Ball:The ball is supported and positioned by upper and lower trunnions. Medium pressure is borne by seat springs and piston effect, delivering stable operating torque independent of pressure differential. This avoids sharp torque increase and seizure risks of floating ball valves under 6-inch large-bore Class 1500 ultra-high pressure conditions, ensuring smooth and reliable opening and closing.
Ultra-High Pressure Flanged Connections:RF (Raised Face) or RTJ (Ring Type Joint) flanges are adopted at both ends, complying with ASME B16.5 Class 1500. For 6-inch Class 1500 flanges: outer diameter 483mm, bolt circle diameter 393.7mm, 12×M36 bolts, flange thickness 92mm, guaranteeing reliable connection and sealing at 26.0MPa ultra-high pressure.
Dual Seat Sealing:Upstream seat + downstream seat dual sealing design achieves bi-directional sealing. A dual mechanism of rear-mounted spring preload and medium pressure self-energization is applied: springs ensure initial sealing at low pressure, while medium pressure drives seats to enhance sealing at high pressure, with sealing performance improving as pressure rises.
Emergency Seal Grease Injection System:Grease injection valves are installed at the seat and stem areas. Temporary sealing can be achieved by injecting sealant in emergency conditions, buying time for pipeline emergency repair and reducing leakage risks.
Fire-Safe Design:In compliance with API 6FA / API 607 standards. In case of soft seal burnout, metal-to-metal backup sealing is formed between metal seats and the ball, preventing massive medium leakage under fire conditions.
Anti-Static Device:Built-in anti-static spring and steel ball ensure electrical continuity between the ball, stem and body, preventing fire or explosion caused by static accumulation from medium flow.
Blowout-Proof Stem Design:The stem adopts a bottom-entry integrally forged structure with anti-blowout steps and multiple sealing rings. Even if the gland accidentally loosens, the stem remains retained by the body, ensuring operational safety under ultra-high pressure conditions.
Low-Torque Bearing Design:Upper and lower trunnions are equipped with low-friction coefficient bearings and thrust washers, significantly reducing operating torque of the 6-inch large-bore ball. Economical electric / pneumatic actuators can be selected, lowering driving cost and energy consumption.
