Design Features
LF2 Forged Low-Temperature Carbon Steel: The valve body is integrally forged from ASTM A350 LF2 low-temperature carbon steel with strictly controlled chemical composition and low phosphorus and sulfur content. It has 100% passed the -46℃ Charpy V-notch impact test (≥20J), with tensile strength ≥485MPa and yield strength ≥250MPa, ensuring excellent toughness and crack resistance in cryogenic service and preventing cold brittleness fracture.
Three-Piece Body Construction: Composed of a main body and two side bodies, connected by high-strength low-temperature alloy steel bolts. The side bodies can be disassembled online for replacement of seats, ball, seals and internal trim without removing the valve from 24-inch extra-large bore ultra-high pressure pipelines, greatly reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
Trunnion-Mounted Ball Design: The ball is supported and positioned by upper and lower trunnions. Medium pressure is borne by seat springs and piston effect, delivering stable operating torque independent of pressure differential. This avoids sharp torque increase and seizure risks of floating ball valves under 24-inch DN600 PN160 ultra-high pressure conditions, ensuring smooth and reliable opening and closing.
Ultra-High Pressure Flanged Connections: The valve ends are equipped with Type B (raised face) or Type E (ring joint face) flanges complying with EN 1092-1 PN160. For 24-inch (DN600) PN160 flanges, outer diameter is 890mm, bolt circle diameter 795mm, 20×M52 bolts, flange thickness 140mm, guaranteeing reliable connection and sealing at 16.0MPa ultra-high pressure.
Dual Seat Sealing: Dual sealing design with upstream and downstream seats provides bi-directional sealing. A dual mechanism of post-mounted spring preload and medium pressure self-energization is adopted: springs ensure initial sealing at low pressure, while medium pressure drives the seat to enhance sealing at high pressure, with sealing performance improving as pressure rises.
DBB Double Block & Bleed: Optional dual-seat double block structure with a bleed valve in the body cavity, realizing double isolation of pipelines to meet safe maintenance and pigging requirements, in accordance with API 6D DBB specifications.
Emergency Seal Lubrication System: Zerk fittings are installed at the seat and stem areas. In emergency conditions, sealing compound can be injected to achieve temporary sealing, buying time for pipeline repair and reducing leakage risks.
Fire-Safe Design: Complies with API 6FA / API 607 standards. In the event of soft seal burnout, metal seats and ball form a metal-to-metal backup seal to prevent massive medium leakage under fire conditions.
Anti-Static Device: Built-in anti-static spring and steel ball ensures electrical continuity between ball, stem and body, preventing static accumulation caused by medium flow that may lead to fire or explosion.
Blowout-Proof Stem: The stem is of bottom-entry integrally forged design with anti-blowout steps and multiple sealing rings. Even if the gland accidentally loosens, the stem remains retained by the body, ensuring operational safety under ultra-high pressure conditions.
Low-Torque Bearing Design: Upper and lower trunnions are fitted with low-friction coefficient bearings and thrust washers, significantly reducing operating torque for the 24-inch large-diameter ball. Large electric, pneumatic or hydraulic actuators can be optionally equipped, lowering driving cost and energy consumption.
