The spring-loaded seat is one of the key sealing designs of trunnion ball valves. Through the pre-tightening force of the spring, the seat can closely fit the surface of the ball. Even under high-pressure conditions, it can effectively prevent medium leakage. This design can also automatically adjust the sealing force when the pressure changes, reducing the leakage risk caused by pressure fluctuations.
Bi-directional Sealing Function
Trunnion ball valves are designed with a bi-directional sealing function. No matter which direction the medium flows in from, reliable sealing can be achieved. This feature is particularly important under high-pressure conditions because it can prevent leakage when the medium flows in the reverse direction.
Multi-stage Sealing Design: In order to further improve the sealing performance, trunnion ball valves usually adopt a multi-stage sealing structure, including seat sealing, stem sealing, and valve body sealing. For example, at the stem, a combined seal of a stuffing box and an O-ring is used to ensure no leakage of the stem under high pressure.
Machining Precision
The sealing performance of trunnion ball valves also depends on high-precision machining processes. The sealing surface is precisely ground and polished, with an extremely low surface roughness, which can reduce the possibility of medium penetration. In addition, the machining precision of the ball and the seat directly affects the sealing effect. By optimizing the angle and curvature of the sealing surface, the sealing contact area can be increased, further improving the sealing performance.
(I). Optimize the sealing material: Select sealing materials that are more resistant to high temperatures and high pressures according to specific working conditions, such as
high-temperature graphite or special alloys.
(II). Improve the sealing structure: Adopt more complex sealing structures, such as a double-seal ring design or a fire-resistant sealing structure, to improve the reliability and safety of the seal.
(III). Strengthen quality control: During the manufacturing process, strictly carry out non-destructive testing and sealing performance testing to ensure that each valve undergoes strict inspection before leaving the factory.
