Full welded ball valves are widely used in buried pipeline systems due to their unique structure and performance advantages, especially in key fields such as urban gas and oil and natural gas transportation. Their reliability is directly related to the safe operation and service life of pipeline systems.
Structure design of fully welded ball valve.
The fully welded ball valve adopts an integral welding structure. The valve body and pipeline are connected by welding to form a seamless whole. This design eliminates the possible leakage points of traditional flange-connected valves and significantly improves the sealing performance of the valve. In addition, the valve body of the fully welded ball valve is usually made of the same material as the pipeline (such as carbon steel or stainless steel), which can effectively avoid the stress concentration problem caused by material differences and further enhance the stress resistance of the valve.
The sealing performance of fully welded ball valves is one of the key indicators of their reliability. Its valve seat usually adopts a carbon fiber reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sealing ring. This material has excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance and can maintain good sealing performance within a wide range of temperatures and pressures. In addition, many fully welded ball valves are also equipped with an automatic pressure relief function in the middle chamber, which can automatically release pressure when the pipeline pressure abnormally rises to prevent the valve from being damaged due to overpressure.
Buried pipelines are in a complex environment. Moisture, salt, and microorganisms in the soil may all cause corrosion to pipelines and valves. Fully welded ball valves improve their corrosion resistance through the following measures:
Valve body material: Using carbon steel or stainless steel materials with strong corrosion resistance can effectively resist chemical corrosion in the soil.
Anti-corrosion coating: The surface of the valve body is usually coated with an anti-corrosion coating, further enhancing the corrosion resistance.
Sealing material: The carbon fiber reinforced PTFE sealing ring not only has excellent sealing performance but also has good corrosion resistance.
