I. Basis for the Selection of strainer Mesh Materials
(1) Medium Characteristics
· Corrosiveness: Select materials with strong corrosion resistance according to the chemical properties of the medium. For example, for seawater or media containing chlorides, 316 stainless steel or titanium alloy is recommended.
· Temperature: Consider the temperature range of the medium. Stainless steel is suitable for -80°C to 450°C, while plastic strainer meshes are usually suitable for lower temperatures.
· Particle size: Select an appropriate strainer mesh mesh number according to the particle size of impurities in the medium. For example, for media with larger particles, 8-30 mesh can be selected; for fine filtration, more than 40 mesh can be selected.
(2) Working Pressure
· High-pressure environment: In high-pressure systems, materials with high strength should be selected, such as 316 stainless steel mesh or duplex stainless steel.
· Low-pressure environment: For low-pressure systems, cost-effective materials such as copper alloys or plastics can be considered.
