The Application of Y-type Filters in Pure Water Preparation Systems

Technical advantages in the pure water preparation system

(1) Efficient removal of impurities
The Y-type filter can effectively remove particulate impurities and suspended matter in water, ensuring that the water quality entering subsequent treatment equipment is clear. Its filtration accuracy can be selected according to needs, ranging from relatively coarse filter screens (such as 2 mesh) to relatively fine filter screens (such as 600 mesh). In the pure water preparation system, medium-precision filter screens (such as 60 - 120 mesh) are usually selected to remove larger particles of impurities while avoiding excessive pressure drop.

(2) Protect subsequent equipment
Equipment such as reverse osmosis membranes and ion exchange resins commonly used in the pure water preparation system have high requirements for water quality. The Y-type filter can intercept large particles of impurities in water, preventing these impurities from entering subsequent equipment, thus extending the service life of the equipment and improving operating efficiency. For example, in the EDI (electrodeionization) equipment, the Y-type filter can effectively remove suspended matter and particles in water, protect the membrane stack resin in the EDI equipment, and improve the preparation efficiency of pure water.

(3) Simple structure and easy maintenance
The structure of the Y-type filter is relatively simple, consisting of an inlet, an outlet, and a filter basket, with a Y-shaped appearance. The filter basket can be easily removed for cleaning and maintenance to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment. In the pure water preparation system, regularly cleaning or replacing the filter screen of the Y-type filter is an important part of ensuring the normal operation of the system.

(4) High-pressure bearing capacity
The Y-type filter is usually suitable for high-pressure pipeline systems and has a high pressure-bearing capacity, ensuring normal operation under high-pressure conditions. In the pure water preparation system, especially in occasions where high-pressure raw water transportation is required, the Y-type filter can operate stably and will not be damaged due to excessive pressure.
