Safety Filtration Technology in Gas Pipelines

(1) Selection of Filtration Precision

Impurities in gas pipelines mainly include solid particles such as rust, sand grains, and dust. Selecting an appropriate filtration precision is crucial for ensuring the safe operation of the system.

 Y-type strainer: The filtration precision is generally 2-600 mesh, which can be selected according to the specific requirements of the gas pipeline.

 T-type strainer: The filtration precision is generally 30-400 mesh, suitable for media such as gas.

(2) Material Selection

The media in gas pipelines usually have a certain degree of corrosion, so the selection of strainer materials is of great importance.

 Y-type strainer:Valve body: Usually made of carbon steel (WCB) or stainless steel (CF8, CF3M, etc.).

 strainer screen: Made of stainless steel (304, 316L, etc.), with good corrosion resistance and filtration performance.

 T-type strainer:Valve body: Usually made of carbon steel or stainless steel.

(3)Installation and Maintenance
Proper installation and regular maintenance are crucial for the safe operation of the strainer.
Installation Requirements:
· The strainer should be installed at the inlet end of the gas equipment to ensure that the medium flow direction is consistent with the arrow direction on the strainer.
· Before installation, clean the impurities inside the pipeline and the strainer to prevent impurities from entering the system.
Maintenance Suggestions:
· Regularly check the differential pressure of the strainer. When the differential pressure exceeds the set value, clean or replace the strainer screen in a timely manner.
· Regularly open the sewage outlet to discharge accumulated impurities and reduce the risk of blockage.

(4) Safety Design
To ensure the safe operation of the gas pipeline system, Y-type and T-type strainers are usually equipped with the following safety designs:
· Differential Pressure Gauge: Real-time monitoring of the differential pressure between the inlet and outlet of the strainer. When the differential pressure exceeds the set value, remind users to clean or replace the strainer screen.
