The double filter is a highly efficient and continuously operating filtration device, widely used in fields such as chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, food, and water treatment. Through its unique design and working principle, it has solved the problem that traditional single-drum filters need to be shut down during maintenance, ensuring the continuous operation of the filtration process.
I. Design Features of the Double Filter
The double filter consists of two parallel single-drum filters, which are connected by a common base and multiple three-way ball valves. Each filter is equipped with a filter screen or filter element inside, which is used to intercept impurities in the fluid. Its external structure includes a liquid inlet, a liquid outlet, a sewage outlet and a valve for switching.

The double filter is usually made of stainless steel, which has excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The inner and outer surfaces have undergone polishing treatment, which not only looks beautiful but also is easy to clean, reducing the risk of material residue and bacterial growth.
The connection pipelines of the double filter are connected by union or clamp connection. The inlet and outlet valves are opened and closed by three-way ball valves, which are pressure-resistant and temperature-resistant, flexible and convenient to operate, and ensure no leakage of material liquid.
The connection between the upper cover and the filter cartridge adopts a quick-opening structure, which facilitates the rapid disassembly and replacement of the filter screen or filter element, reducing maintenance time and labor costs.
II. Working Principle of Double Filter
The core working principle of the double filter is "parallel switching". When in normal operation, one filter is in working condition and the other is in standby condition. When the filter in operation needs to be cleaned or its filter element replaced due to the accumulation of impurities, the flow direction of the fluid is switched to another filter by switching the three-way ball valve, thus achieving non-stop filtration operation.
After the fluid enters the double filter through the liquid inlet, it passes through the three-way ball valve into the working filter. When the fluid passes through the filter screen or filter element, impurities are intercepted on the surface of the filter screen or filter element, and the clean fluid is discharged from the liquid outlet.
When the working filter needs to be cleaned, the fluid flow direction is switched through the three-way ball valve to put the standby filter into use. At this point, the deactivated filters can be cleaned or the filter elements replaced without affecting the continuity of the filtration process.
(4) Venting and sewage discharge
The top of the double filter is equipped with an air release valve to discharge the air inside the filter, ensuring a smooth filtration process. Meanwhile, a drain port is provided at the bottom of the filter for discharging the impurities after cleaning.
