I. Selection Points
(I) Medium Characteristics
Corrosiveness: For media such as strong acids and strong alkalis, titanium alloy or stainless steel should be selected.
Particle-containing: For media containing solid particles, ball valves are preferred to avoid blockage.
(II) Material Selection
Metallic Materials: Titanium alloy has strong corrosion resistance, and stainless steel has high cost-performance.
Non-metallic Materials: Materials such as PTFE and graphite have good corrosion resistance but low hardness.
(III) Sealing Structure
Soft Sealing: It is suitable for normal temperature working conditions and has good sealing performance.
Hard Sealing: It is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions and has strong wear resistance.
Metal Materials: Titanium alloys, stainless steels, nickel-based alloys, etc. are commonly used corrosion-resistant metal materials. A dense oxide film (TiO2) will rapidly form on the surface of titanium alloy, and this oxide film can effectively prevent further oxidation.
Non-metal Materials: Non-metal materials such as PTFE, graphite, and ceramics have good corrosion resistance, but their hardness and strength are relatively low.
Soft Sealing: Suitable for normal temperature or low-temperature working conditions. It has excellent sealing performance but poor temperature resistance.
Hard Sealing: Such as metal sealing surfaces, suitable for working conditions with high temperature, high pressure, and strong corrosive media. It has good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
(II) Sealing Surface Materials
Metal Sealing Surfaces: Such as titanium alloy, stainless steel, etc., suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure working conditions.
Non-metal Sealing Surfaces: Such as PTFE, rubber, etc., suitable for normal temperature or low-temperature working conditions.
