In power plants, petrochemical plants and heat transfer oil systems, medium temperature can reach over 450°C. Ordinary carbon steel or 304 ball valves suffer from 3 typical failures:
Stem packing carbonizes under high heat, leading to dangerous external medium leakage;
Ball & seat seize due to thermal expansion, causing excessive operation torque;
Common stainless steel creeps under long-term high temperature, resulting in body crack and pressure failure.
Combined Class 600 high pressure and extreme heat requires specialized valve design, general service ball valves cannot sustain continuous operation.
F321 austenitic stainless steel with titanium stabilization features superior creep resistance vs CF8 / 304. It withstands continuous 550°C under Class 600 pressure, anti-high temperature oxidation and hydrogen embrittlement, ideal for hydrogenation, superheated steam and thermal oil lines.
3-piece forged body with full bolt connection provides abundant safety margin under high pressure; 6-inch large bore delivers stable flow without turbulent restriction.
Multi-layer annular cooling fins extend heat transfer distance, blocking heat transfer from hot body to top worm gear and packing box:
Lower temperature of packing area, flexible graphite packing avoids carbonization and leakage;
Protect top manual worm gear actuator from thermal deformation for smooth operation;
Compatible with electric / pneumatic actuator modification for automatic high temp pipelines.
Ball and seat overlayed with Stellite hard alloy, no softening or adhesion under extreme heat, bi-directional zero leakage. Service life is 3 times longer than ordinary soft-seated valves (soft seal only works below 200°C).
6-inch RF raised face flange complies with ASME B16.5, API 6D. Integrated forged flange avoids sealing face deformation during thermal cycle, stable gasket sealing without pipe reducer modification.

For medium temperature over 420°C, extended cooling stem + F321/F347 heat-resistant steel is mandatory. Avoid cast body for Class 600 and above pressure. Stellite hard seal is recommended for frequent on-off cycles. J-VALVES provides free customized selection solution with material temperature-pressure resistance report.
