I. International Standards for Ball Valves
(1) ISO Standards
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has developed a series of standards for ball valves, among which ISC17292 is one of the most important. This standard specifies the design, manufacturing, and acceptance requirements for ball valves and is applicable to fluid control systems in various industrial fields. In addition, ISO has also issued other relevant standards, such as ISO 11238 (Pressure Testing of Metal Valves) and ISO 11239 (Fire Testing of Valves), etc. These standards provide comprehensive guarantees for the quality and performance of ball valves.
(2) API Standards
The API6D standard developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) is a widely used ball valve standard in the oil and gas industry. This standard covers the design, manufacturing, testing, and certification requirements of ball valves, especially suitable for high-pressure and high-flow-rate working conditions. Ball valves compliant with the API6D standard have been widely applied in projects such as long-distance oil and gas pipelines and offshore oil and gas platforms.
(3) Other International Standards
In addition to ISO and API standards, other international standards also play an important role in the field of ball valves. For example, the European standard EN12237 specifies the technical requirements for steel ball valves and is applicable to the oil, petrochemical, and related industrial fields. In addition, the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) and the German Industrial Standard (DIN) have also been applied in some regions and industries.
II. Application Status in the Domestic Market
Oil and gas: The oil and gas industry is one of the main application fields of ball valves. Especially in projects such as long-distance pipelines, oil and gas field development, and refineries, ball valves are used to control the flow and pressure of fluids.
Chemical industry: The chemical industry has high requirements for the corrosion resistance and sealing performance of ball valves. Ball valves are widely used in links such as chemical raw material transportation and reactor control.
Water treatment industry: In the fields of water treatment and sewage treatment, ball valves are used to control water flow and regulate water pressure to ensure the stable operation of the system.
Power industry: The power industry has high requirements for the high-temperature and high-pressure resistance performance of ball valves. Ball valves play an important role in the cooling water system and steam system of power plants.
Development status of domestic enterprises
After years of development, the domestic ball valve industry has formed a relatively complete industrial chain. In recent years, domestic enterprises have made remarkable progress in technological innovation and product quality. The products of some enterprises have reached the international advanced level.
