In industrial fluid control systems, ball valves and gate valves are two commonly used valve types. They each have their own advantages and are suitable for different working conditions. The following are selection suggestions for five key scenarios to help users make appropriate choices according to actual needs.

I. High pressure and high temperature environment

Ball valve: Compact structure, good sealing performance, quick opening and closing, suitable for high-pressure scenarios that require quick cut-off.
Gate valve: Excellent sealing performance, small fluid resistance, suitable for high-temperature scenarios that require long-term stable operation.
• Selection suggestion: For high-pressure environment, ball valve is preferred. For high-temperature environment, gate valve is preferred.

II. Corrosive medium environment
Ball valve: The sealing surface is made of corrosion-resistant materials. It has a simple structure and is suitable for mildly corrosive media.
Gate valve: It can be made of corrosion-resistant materials and is suitable for severely corrosive media. However, its structure is complex and it is easy to accumulate impurities.

III. Frequent operation environment
Ball valve: Quick opening and closing, small operating torque, suitable for frequent opening and closing.
Gate valve: Slow opening and closing speed. Frequent operation is prone to wear.

IV. Medium containing solid particles environment

Gate valve: Large contact area. Solid particles are easy to accumulate and there is a high risk of wear.
• Selection suggestion: For medium containing solid particles, ball valve is preferred. For high-wear medium, wear-resistant gate valve is preferred.

V. Precise flow control environment
Ball valve: Quick-opening type for flow regulation, suitable for quick cut-off.
Gate valve: Flow can be regulated by lifting the gate plate, suitable for precise flow control.
• Selection suggestion: For quick cut-off, ball valve is preferred. For precise flow control, gate valve is preferred.
