This rotary motion enables the ball valve to realize the conversion from fully open to fully closed in a short time, and the operation is very rapid.

Low operating torque and fast response.

Another important characteristic of a ball valve is its low operating torque. Due to the spherical design of the valve core, the resistance generated by the fluid when passing through the valve core is relatively small, so the operating torque is also relatively low. This means that a ball valve can be operated with a smaller handle or actuator, making the operation process more effortless and quick. Low operating torque not only improves the convenience of operation but also reduces the wear on the valve core and sealing seat during the operation process, prolonging the service life of the valve.

Implementation mechanism of fluid control

Partial opening and flow regulation

The channel design of the ball valve enables it to adjust the fluid flow by partially opening. When the valve core is rotated to a position between fully open and fully closed, the fluid will be restricted to a certain extent when passing through the channel of the valve core, thereby realizing the adjustment of flow. Although this adjustment method is not as accurate as that of a throttle valve or a globe valve, it is still very effective in some occasions where rapid flow adjustment is required.

Bidirectional sealing and flow control

Another important characteristic of a ball valve is bidirectional sealing. Due to the spherical design of the valve core and the elastic material of the sealing seat, the ball valve can achieve sealing in two directions. This means that the ball valve can be used in a pipeline system with bidirectional flow without leakage problems. Bidirectional sealing not only improves the reliability of the ball valve but also makes it have a wider application in complex fluid control systems.
