The 3PC forged steel ball valve, also known as the three piece forged steel ball valve, gets its name from its unique structural design composed of three main components. These three components are respectively two pipe joints and one main part. The two pipe joints can be conveniently installed on the pipeline by welding or threaded connection, and the main part is precisely connected to the middle part of the two pipe joints. This unique three-piece structure design endows the valve with many significant advantages.
The working principle of the 3PC forged steel ball valve is based on the rotational movement of the ball to control the fluid. Inside the valve, the sphere serves as the core closing member, and its central axis is closely connected to the valve stem. When the operator rotates the valve stem, the ball rotates 90° around the centerline of the valve body accordingly. When the channel of the sphere coincides completely with the axis of the pipe, the valve is fully open, and at this time, the fluid can flow freely in the pipe with minimal resistance. When the sphere rotates 90°, its surface will completely block the pipeline channel, and the valve will be fully closed, effectively preventing the passage of fluid. By controlling the different rotation angles of the sphere between 0° and 90°, precise regulation of fluid flow can also be achieved.
The 3PC forged steel ball valve adopts advanced sealing technology. High-performance sealing materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE), or metal sealing materials, are usually equipped between the ball and the valve seat. These sealing materials have good flexibility, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, and can maintain stable sealing performance under different working temperatures and pressure conditions. When the valve is in the closed state, a tight sealing pair is formed between the ball and the valve seat, effectively preventing medium leakage and ensuring the tightness and safety of the system. Even during long-term use, in the face of frequent opening and closing operations and harsh medium environments, its sealing performance can still be reliably guaranteed.
